Body Sculpture - Liposuction, Liposculpture, Abdominoplasty, Body Lifts
The key basis of Body Sculpture is body silhouette refinement and balance to achieve harmony of the body shape. Body sculpture is not a simple treatment of the fat layer and certainly is not about weight loss, although it has been known to eradicate those last few stubborn pounds. It is a complex combination of many different procedures designed to treat not only fatty deposits, but also excess loose skin (lifts), or even over stretched abdominal muscles (abdominoplasty or tummy tuck) resulting from weight gain and loss, or pregnancy.
Liposuction has many forms and when used with External Ultrasound can even enhance skin tightening and surface smoothing. Irregularities of the surface of the skin can be smoothed with superficial liposuction or even fat grafting to fill unsightly hollows (even those from older liposuction techniques).
Abdominoplasty is our most popular form of body sculpture and in our practice; this procedure may take many forms. Our newest and most unique abdominoplasty is our limited incision “Victoria’s Secret” tummy tuck which combines the skin tightening effect of External Ultrasound treatment with muscle repair to restore the muscle tone and waist line shape as well as liposuction for any uneven or unwanted fatty deposits. There is no belly button scar and the C-section style scar is easily hidden in even smallish swimwear and lingerie.
More dramatic correction can be obtained with personalized Abdominoplasty procedures that meet the needs of a specific problem to be solved. The most extensive body sculpture needs are experienced by patients who have had massive weight loss and have skin that did not shrink in the process. Muscle does not shrink either and because of the abnormal position and shape of the abdominal muscles, exercise will not recover muscle tone and or waistline.
Muscle repair can restore waist shape as well as restore support for overstrained back muscles. Relief of chronic low back pain is a frequent bonus.
Other types of lift surgery are also available including, brachioplasty for upper arms, “tanga” or standard buttock lifts, thigh lift or lower body combined lifts. Each approach has its pros and cons and needs to be evaluated personally for each individual |
