Our Platinum Peel is an innovative system for treating facial (or even body skin) to exfoliate and stimulate the skin to step up its normal repair systems to rejuvenate itself. The combination of modalities involved and the use of antioxidant vitamins on the skin, enhance uptake and availability of nutrients for the skin. Alpha hydroxy acids plump and stimulate the skin for a radiance that no cosmetic can imitate. After an initial series of treatments combined with a home program, an individualized maintenance program is designed for each patient.
Probably the most inexpensive, effective skin rejuvenation technique is sun avoidance. Unhappily, most of us are years past that choice and now, even though regular tanning is a faint memory, that memory is written on our faces with discolorations, rough texture, fine lines and dull complexion as a visible and constant reminder. The critical issue now is to stop immediately and to use a daily sunscreen under your makeup. That stops the damage that can happen even with minutes of sun on your skin per day. Then our medical skin care can make the most difference.
Many options for skin care treatments and home programs are available within our Beauty by Prescription Skin Care System. Your skin type, history of environmental damage, pigmentation, or adult acne will be taken into consideration and a program designed for your unique needs. Our Aesthetician is specially trained in medical skin care and has many different treatment options and product lines available so that a customized program is the rule rather than the exception. Because your treatment program is supervised by Dr. Herte, she can also add prescription medications to your treatment program or recommend more advanced treatments that only a Physician should perform.
More advanced treatment of skin texture and lines is available as well. Surgical chemical peels may range from a few days of mild peeling to 7-10 days of recovery time. CO2 laser resurfacing is the most accurate and adjustable of resurfacing procedures because we can control depth for each area of the face and accomplish light treatment with fast recovery or deeper treatment with more remarkable results. The choices are many and require careful evaluation of your skin type, lifestyle, and recovery time available to chose the best approach for your concerns.
When considering the more advanced peels or laser resurfacing, proper skin care both before and after can not only speed recovery and healing, but extend the life of your result.
