What If I Miss My BOTOX® Cosmetic Appointment?

The popular injectable BOTOX® Cosmetic addresses facial wrinkles for a more youthful appearance. By relaxing tensed and overworked muscles, the injectable treatment can slow down typical signs of aging commonly represented by deep creases and lines. To maintain the rejuvenating results of BOTOX® Cosmetic, follow-up appointments can be scheduled before the product has worn off.

Patients are encouraged to come back in for additional injections every three months to preserve their desired results. The team at the Herte Center for Cosmetic Surgery understands that situations may arise where an appointment may be missed, whether intentional or not, and some patients may worry how their looks will be impacted by a missed session. Effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic usually last between three to nine months, meaning patients may see gradual changes in their facial appearance as results begin to wear off. This gives some patients a little wiggle room if an appointment is missed. In some cases, patients who have been receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic injections for a longer period of time have noticed an improvement in their appearance even after the effects have worn off. In between treatments, we recommend that patients protect their skin with medical-grade skin care products.

At the Herte Center for Cosmetic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeon, Mary C. Herte, MD, helps patients achieve their desired appearance through a variety of procedures, including breast, body, and facial enhancements. She is a certified Expert Injector and has extensive experience with BOTOX® Cosmetic, having used it for her patients for over 15 years. Additionally, as an aesthetic specialist, Master Injector, and Allergan trainer, Hollie Tyler, APRN works alongside Dr. Herte to administer BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, helping enhance a patient’s appearance and confidence.
